R E V I E W SReviewed by: Amber from Absent Soul Date: March 5th, 2006 First Impression: Nice shades of blues, pleasant to the eye. The splash image wonderfully done; I like the way the bullets border it. As I glance through your recommendations, I chuckle a little. :P It's alright to have those, I suppose, but remember to put the necessary recommendations as well. The only 'needed' recommendation you're missing is the recommended resolution. I've viewed your layout in 800 x 600, and it looks fine. It also looks fine in Mozilla Firefox, MSN Explorer and Opera, so 'IE+' is not a needed recommendation.
The splash overall is very lovely and appealing, but there's just one problem; the semi-long-scroll (for a splash, anyway). It would look much, much neater if that were all up by the splash, without the scroll. To get rid of the site created 7/22/03, you could edit the alt tag on your counter. Instead of it saying 'site meter' when you hover, it could say 'counter started 7/22/03', or something of the sort. As for affiliates, you could probably make a mini-pop-up page for them. That should get rid of the scroll. :) Aaanyway, the splash image beckons me to click it, so I shall. *click~!* Layout: Like I said earlier for the needed requirements - viewable in multiple browsers, and viewable in the most common resolutions. Good job on that. :) Only worry you have for people who use 800 x 600 is the header. It's a bit large (the 'updates' image isn't viewable unless you scroll with an 800 x 600 res) - for that resolution, anyway. It's a good size for 1024 x 768 and up. You can distinguish the links from the text very easily. The first link on each of the tables is harder to read than the rest, but it's really not a problem. The tables make your layout look very organized; all links are in their proper categories, it seems. The category labeled pix could be changed to pictures or images for a more professional look. As for -just- the header - awesome job. Not bland at all, and it loaded quickly. *checks to see if you've sliced it* Oh, you have. Breaking it up into 3+ parts will make it load even quicker, but I honestly had no problem. Just the dial-up users you've got to worry about. One question, though - why is there a huge space between the title of the site on the header, the title of the page, and then the content? o_o The great layout gives me a good feeling about browsing around. Content:
Site
Date: 1-01-03 to 2-02-03 Shows you've improved... massively. Looks like when you started getting into tables, your designs got better. In "Past Updates", you might want to break the updates up by month and year, so it's easier for viewers to browse through (or you, for that matter). There are some broken images in there, as well. The "About Webmistress" provides enough information for the average viewer. I see one problem:
The sentence doesn't make sense, and you missed a :: at the end of shudders. I viewed your Digimon site, and don't worry. My first site was much, -much- worse. XD It was on Geocities too, and they also deleted it. I feel your pain. Now for the "Awards Won" and "Gifts" pages. No broken images, all working links. I like how you spice up the pages by actually showing the image of the last award/gift you got, instead of having it all just be text. :) For your contact page, I see you don't want -any- spam. It's one way to avoid spam, but it's also easier to make a simple typo in typing out the e-mail to you, thus you never getting the message. I recommend using an e-mail form. I've never gotten spam while using them for my site. The donate and FAQ look alright to me. Next section~!
Info *clicks on the character profiles link* All of the avatars are the same size, same border - good. Some of them lack image quality, though. There are -tons- of Inuyasha pictures out there (I'm sure you know that), I'm certain you can find better quality images. The profiles are short and sweet. One thing - if I were viewing the site, and never saw Inuyasha before, how would I know who's a sub/main character, as it says on the link leading to this page? I see one error: She's very caring, but skilled with the bow, which carriers with it the power of a priestess that she has within her. The 'but' in that sentence should be an 'and'. For the episode reference/guide, awesome job. I like how you summarized each each one in just a few sentences. You've got quite a few (*coughlike120cough*) summaries, too. *stare* Great! Voice actors! I love looking at these kinds of pages. Let's me look through them, see if I recognize any of them. The voice actors are neatly kept in a table, good. If you really want to stretch it, I'd recommend making a .txt page for each, telling what other anime the particular voice actors did. Might be interesting. :) Dictionary looks good, moving onto the Relationship Chart. Never seen this before, honest to god. I like it a lot, -very- good for first time viewers. Unique idea, too. As for the movies, nice, short summaries for each of them. I'm pleased to see more than one opinion for 2/3 of them. Gives me a good idea on what to expect. Not as biased, either, for each person has a different opinion. Section threee~!
Fan Aaah fanfiction. It's good how you categorized them by rating. I'm a bit curious though - why are there dots on each of the rating's pages? o_o What's their purpose? Yaaay, short summaries for each. If you get tired of seeing the same old, white background-ed font, there's a CSS code to fix that. You can make the font in text areas the same as the font on your webpage, if you'd like. Click here to see how. Fanart looks good. Woooah, that's a lot of 'too much inuyaha'. o_o The image is rather grainy, I suggest getting a better quality image of it. ^^; One recommendation for the actual page - align the text to the left. Aligning it to the center makes it look somewhat unorganized, and hard to read. Quizzes look good to me; it's best to make each pop open in a new window, though. *just opened a quiz and closed the browser, your site went with it o_o* *hops over to the next section*
You To pick at the awards page - small awards, with unique names. Rules are acceptable.
Pix Your wallpapers are good, for the most part. Some are a bit too simple, but lovely anyway. It's good that you've got them in the two most common resolutions. As for your avatars, awesome effects. :) Maybe categorize them by if they're animated or not, their size? (do it now, before you make too many ^^;;) *flies to section six*
Media The mids page is nicely kept. I haven't seen the way you do this page done anywhere else, really (download, then a page with the lyrics -and- the midi playing in the background; that's handy). Onto the last section, whoo! :)

Overall: [9/10] If it weren't for the few things I pointed out, you'd have gotten a 10/10 from me. It's seriously good to see an awesome site here and there, out on the net. I hope this has helped you out.
