Mmm, that may be the best thing to do, aye.
Until then, however, you can always require admin approval of who registers. (If I do recall, phpBB has that option in their ACP?) It may be worth it for the time being since you seem to check on the forum regularly. At least until you have enough free time to install a nice mod. That's what I'd do anyways. *nod*
