Article Title : Really Bad Fanfictions
First off, let me say that I have absolutely nothing against fanfictions. I love to read and write them myself, and they're amusing. You can take the plot and make it your own, in a way.
That being said, I shall get to my problem(s) with fanfictions. First off...if you're going to write a fanfic, please don't butcher the English language (or whatever language you happen to be typing in), a.k.a. "netspeak". Authors and such don't do it, why should you? Granted, we're not all authors here, but that's not the point. You should take the care of your work not to make it like, "lyk omgz kagome said inuyasha ilu sooooooooooooooooo much!!!!!!!!!!!!1111oneoneseven". If you don't know proper English...well, go back to first grade.
Of course, there are some really good fanfictions out there as well (though not as many really good MirSan ones, this coming from a huge MirSan couple fanatic). These people put care and effort into their work, and try hard. Even if some of them aren't the greatest...if the people try hard to use good grammar and think of a good plotline, it makes the story worth it. They don't write one in two minutes, tops, and then publish it on fanfiction.net or something in a futile attempt to get good reviews from other internet whores with bad grammar. Excuse the use of language.
Another thing that bugs me about fanfictions is how out-of-character (or "OOC") people make the characters. Sometimes it's intentional, and it can be really funny. But other times, the authors don't even seem to care about what the character acts like, and just...yeah. If these OOC-fics are intentional...they should at least say in a chapter summary or the story summary that it's supposed to be OOC, instead of making themselves look bad.
